Notes:

- A Yorkshire vocalist / song writer that had toured the clubs in Britain with many acts before breaking big in America in 1985 with the 'Naughty, Naughty' single, JOHN PARR became an overnight sensation in the mid 80s. Musicians utilised on his self-titled debut album (released on Atlantic in America, but picked up by London in Britain) included guitarist Chris Marra, bassist Bruce Laing and keyboard player John Cook. As a songwriter Parr also had tracks recorded by MEAT LOAF and TYGERS OF PAN TANG. Indeed, Parr's follow up single in America to the debut 'Naughty, Naughty' was 'Magical', co-written with MEAT LOAF.

Parr received a Grammy nomination for the hit single 'St Elmo's Fire', but his recording career was to falter following the 'Running The Endless Mile' album in 1986. Parr concentrated on film soundtracks to follow up work on the likes of, 'Quicksilver' (singing a duet on the title track with MARILYN MARTIN), 'Flight Of The Spruce Goose', 'Running Man' and 'Three Men And A Baby'.

It was all a far cry from the post debut euphoria as, in the immediate wake of the success of 'St. Elmo's Fire' and his debut album, Parr toured in America opening for TINA TURNER and then HEART. Parr's band comprised of ex BABYS, ANGEL and TAHNEE CAIN bassist Ricky Phillips, former WHITE SISTER keyboard player Garri Brandon, guitarist Chris Marra and drummer Pat Torpey (later to find fame with MR. BIG).

John was later to find working as a writer for the debut album by ROMEO'S DAUGHTER alongside producer Mutt Lange before being signed to independent label Music For Nations to release 'Man With A Vision' in 1992.

During 1994 Parr teamed up with German guitar guru ULI JON ROTH for dates in Europe in a vocal quartet that also included ex ZENO vocalist Michael Flexig, former V2 and FAIR WARNING frontman Tommy Heart and ex TRAPEZE and URIAH HEEP singer Pete Goalby.

The singer made a return in 1996 with the 'Under Parr' album. Featured musicians were JOHN VERITY, GEOFF WHITEHORN, bassist Matt Bissonette and JOURNEY drummer Mike Baird. -
